Ashton Kutcher's online meltdown
“PARANOID” Ashton Kutcher says spies could be monitoring him online – but that hasn’t stopped him from posting a rambling video rant sparked by a neighbour’s building project.
“It’s 7:30 a.m. and I get to wake up in my bedroom to my f—ing jacka– neighbour doing this next to my porch,” he says in the online meltdown.
Kutcher, star of Dude, Where’s My Car? and TV series Punk’d, has been using Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, and Qik to spread video and text updates about his daily life to thousands of followers.
Today’s clip was precluded by a series of Twitter posts by Kutcher and his partner, Demi Moore.
“I’m gonna kill my neighbour!” Kutcher wrote in one post.
Moore responded with a milder Tweet: “Calm and gentle baby you can pull out the paint gun later!”
Kutcher has since posted a new video repenting his rant after news websites picked up the story.
“You’re very vulnerable at 7am,” he said in the video, filmed at an office where he was preparing for a new role.
“I pledge to be more tolerant of my neighbour’s hammering at 7am in the morning, as he tolerated my construction at my home.”
At the end of the video, Kutcher filmed himself apparently chatting to Demi Moore on the phone.
“Are there paparazzi at the end of the street?” he asked.
“OK. Yeah for some reason us Twittering about our neighbour became news, I’m not sure, I thought we were just having fun but whatever.”
Kutcher recently posted a paranoid MySpace blog after links apparently went missing from his Twitter account while researching government assassins for a new role.
“As I dug through the responses there was one link in particular that caught my attention. Someone posted a tread (sic) that they believed to be a CIA doctrine on assassination.”
Kutcher said he stored the link for later, also assuming it would be cached in his Twitter account.
“When I arrived home the link along with several others had been pulled from my twitter feed,” he said.
“Call me paranoid (as it may be a result of the roll I am preparing for) but I don’t like feeling like we are being edited.
“I feel like I’m in The Game right now and it may very well be being run by Evan Williams,” he said, referring to a 1997 thriller and the co-founder of Twitter.
“LOL If this blog post disappears I’m moving back to Iowa throwing away my cell and my computer and hiding under a rock.”
